Taking The Photos

Once i had planned my Magazine i then had to start thinking about the photos, locations and who was going to feature in the pictures. For my front cover i wanted a plain background, so i used a wall in my bedroom which i thought would be suitable, then once i had managed to take that picture i changed location. For the pictures of my artist inside the magazine i used a blank wall also in my house and used an amplifier and one of my guitars as props, i thought this worked really well for the feel of the artist. I got my model to wear a dress with a leather jacket and boots to try and give her an edgy look, i used laura as my model because i think she had the look of the sort of audience i am targetting and also she is photogenic. Another picture i took was of a CD case for the band that i was also featuring in the magazine and put the picture on the contents page.

This was the first picture i took which is un-edited .

I then decided to edit the picture to make it brighter and so it showed her features more, however as you can see when i had done this i had created a shadow which is not acceptable for the cover of a magazine, so my third edit i put the background colour i wanted for the magazine and got rid of the shadow.

I also took some other photos of laura with different props that were relevant to my magazine.
Hear i used an amplifier that is used in my house for her to sit on, i wanted to create a chilled look, to try and portray that she is a calm and collected artist.

This is a close up shot which i am going to use on my double page spread.

This was the last picture i took which i plan to use on the contents page as a featured artist in my magazine.
